I thought I might have seen a lizard in our garden but it was probably an unusually coloured newt - sort of pale orange. I would say it was moving faster than a newt but not as fast as a lizard. Also it was climbing stones and I'm not sure that's normal behaviour for a newt.
But the fact it was not sitting in the sun, and the fact I've never seen a lizard here, makes me think it was a newt.
