Talking of V40 or more specifically M40....
To put me firmly in my place I was speaking to the sprint coach at the local AC this week (flush with excitement from macclesfield) and he told me that he had picked up a boy of 13 who could run 11.3 secs so when I told him my time from the fetch NW event he responded with a wry smile. Unlike distance running sprinting has 2 categories under 20 and over 20 and you either learn to compete with the 20 sommethings or you stay away. I have a horrible feeling I may get battered here but in the spirit of "being a good sport" I will buy some spikes and take them on in a couple of events in April. It all makes M40 categorisation feel a lot fairer.
