Yesterday I had my first social gathering in this house. It was a small one but lots of laughter. My friends gave me a beautiful newt scarf (well actually it has dogs on it). I bought a Percy pig birthday cake which I have started for breakfast.

I'm loving today's newts already. My newt will be singing in a joint choir event this evening, in Marlborough. I've sung in many choir concerts over the years but never a joint one with another choir. There will be over 100 of us - hope it sounds as good as it should! A minor newt will be discovering inner Marlborough and finding a carpark.

We had brownies for breakfast today! Our friend sent some over from France for Kev's birthday. We've put the others in the freezer or we will *have* to eat them all

I'd love to see a badger!
My newts for today were going to Homerton for the first time (so far east for this West London girl!) and meeting up with a ring maker who's going to make me a ring. I've chosen the design and the stone and it should be ready in 3-4 weeks

My newt today is a bit odd. I'm sick of wearing trousers (uniform for work and jeans at home). So today I've been wearing a 50s style cocktail type dress. Just in the house and mooching about. Why wait for *best* ?

I have a newt today that I hardly dare admit.
I bought a newspaper today that I normally would not buy under any circumstances. We have a relative in her 90s who likes this particular paper 'Only because the TV guide is so good dear, I know it's a dreadful rag otherwise....' but she has been poorly today so I agreed to buy said publication for J to deliver to her tomorrow. Luckily I was able to buy a Guardian at the same time to cover it up and obviously I went to a large supermarket in Ipswich rather than our local shop to ensure I didn't meet anyone I knew...

Oh Baroness how absolutely APPALLING for you. You have my every sympathy. I refuse to even look at the website - and sometimes it's damned difficult to avoid - never mind sully the purity of my soul by reading or - heaven forfend -purchasing the wretched publication.
I assume you mean the paper that dare not breath its name but is neither the Sun not the Mirror.
