I like Eve's pudding too. When the children were children I used to make one every 24th December with a layer of mincemeat on top of the apple, and call it Christmas Eve's pudding.

There's a leak in the roof above ds2's room, which we discovered when it started absolutely pissing it down half an hour ago or so. I put a bucket underneath but it's stopped now. I've had the brickwork round that chimney sealed a few years ago but when it rains that hard for 15 minutes I suppose something's bound to sneak through somewhere. Hopefully it won't happen again, it'd be a bugger to track down.
