I have ironed 5 shirts, polished 3 pairs of shoes, cooked dinner, loaded the dishwasher/washed up, made 2 lots of sandwiches, got to the washing in, fed the rabbit and put him away for the night, and tidied the garden furniture. Sitting down now.

9.15 is too late at night for sympathy LF he’ll feed off it like a vampire and get into a proper state. A raised eyebrow and a good night is perfectly adequate

E 7.11 was needing sympathy about a book I'd moved into the living room, unfortunately it was after her lights out time and she got short shrift from us.

By the time I'd caffeinated myself and gone upstairs he'd got immersed in a book and was ready to tell me all sorts about the greek gods.
