Your sons feel as I do about sprouts, WtnMel.
Didn't realise prawn cocktails were out of fashion. Or at least, "dated".
Niece has said she will do the starters, and also the roast potatoes and roast vegetables. She's not very reliable (though she is a good cook) so it is possible I will get to Bruv's flat with the turkey crown (pre-ordered, free range), sprouts, bread sauce, cranberry sauce, stuffing mix, pudding and brandy butter, and find out that actually that's all there is.
Hope Mrs. Dio's scalded hand will soon be feeling better. Not too easy to cook Christmas lunch with one arm in a sling. Maybe you were going to be doing it anyway, Dio?
Loved Sharkie's "Mondae".

You don’t really need a starter though do you? Unless it’s breakfast

No (to Fleecy); but it is traditional, for Christmas lunch.

She’ll be out of the sling by then, Christmas dinner is usually a bit of a joint effort.

Many years ago, my Mum broke her arm on Christmas Eve. Dad, my sister and I spent the evening following her instructions and we sat down to one of the most enjoyable festive dinners ever.

My Mum was once taken very unwell on Christmas Eve and I had to complete the Christmas shopping, and cook the Christmas dinner for us and our guests. I even had to do all the clearing up, as after dinner everyone else went off to visit my Grandmother.
