we also have a next door Ivy problem!
the other side also has a rampant thing that keeps attaching itself to my failed miniature apple tree that never produces anything!

Apart from being undesirable for aesthetic reasons and it’s rampant growth where it’s unwanted, ivy doesn’t damage healthy trees or impair their growth.

(Info courtesy of an arborist who was examining some trees in my road following reports by a concerned neighbour)

I quite like ivy, in small doses.

Today I saw what looks like a cabbage white caterpillar, on (of all things) a forget-me-not plant. I have nothing in the cabbage family, and at present no nasturtiums, so I suppose it's any port in a storm.

Been out four times to replace some twine that is holding up a bush. After snapping yet again, I've decided to give up until the wind stops.

Lots more of those caterpillars, mainly on forget-me-not plants. Hope the birds eat them.

I guess forget-me-nots are very good for butterflies and bees at this time of year - lots of small flowers with lots of nectar.

There are butterflies and moths whose preferred host is forget-me-nots.
