Yes, thanks !
I think I'll leave them to germinate inside my house and then move them out! I can copper tape a safe corner somewhere, I'm sure.
And I think I shall have to look at some more wintery salads - strange as that seems in August!

I will be sowing some in trays, then plant out. I havent had time to deal with rock solid soil! But it has been raining so hopefully, by the time we have germination, it will be ok.

I stopped doing evening watering years ago as I realised that it just encouraged the slugs and snails.

Is it worth adding nematodes to the water so the greedy evening slugs get their comeuppance?

It does work, but not when it is dry! Also: expensive!

The greenhouse is full of Aubergines, Peppers and Cucumbers but I think I can squeeze lettuce in and Parsley.....maybe leeks as the raised beds are still a bit full.

Need to go throuh my seed box, think I have plenty of salad leaves, too hot in the growhouse for them at the moment though.
Unless we had some rain overnight, unlikely the roads were dry at 7, one 5 minute shower seems to be all the rain we’re going to get
