looks like a fair guess... I'll take a look at all the varieties. Helpfully, the first I looked at says the leaves can be shaped differently. I don't think there were markings on the leaves, though.

we were talking about poppies on here a few weeks ago. Coincidentaly a few small poppy seedlings appeared on the village charity stall - so I bought some

imagine my surprise to find that they're blue ones :)

I can't grow Meconopsis, no matter how hard I try. I really love them.

Lovely! When I was weeding at the allotment a few days ago I realised that some of the weeds were poppies, so I left them. (Not meconopsis, just the standard red wild poppy.)

I had some nice pink frilly ones appear randomly once. They didn’t self seed though because I haven’t had them since. Wish I’d saved some seed.

We had hundreds of beautiful poppies last year and I scattered the seeds all over the place, but it looks as if only one or two in a pot have made it.

My sympathy WS, the wind has battered my sweet peas and mangetout and dried everything out a lot.
The old parasol, that I put up to reduce the sun on the greenhouse whilst I work out a better way to shade it, blew over and has made a mess of the pots of cucurbits that were hardening off :(

Looks like it's going to be rough here tomorrow as well.

I thought I'd deadheaded last year's self-sown opium poppies in time after they took over the garden - but they are still appearing everywhere. some I leave, lots have gone in the compost bin.
I shall save a seed-head or three this year though.
