Thanks flanker I hadn’t thought of trail shoes for road use I tend to do a lot of mixed runs so they may be ideal. I did look at the parkclaw but I think the drop was crazy I like as close to zero as possible these days. Thanks all!! |

Flanker what is the sizing like? I ordered the 235 f-lites and they weee a smaller fit than the 195’s - why they have to differ is beyond me.

Found them on amazon with prime and free returns so ordered both sizes. Let’s see if I can find another pair I love as much as the 195’s. Thanks again.

snayak - The Streak is the former Nike racer of choice and has a plate to improve efficiency/ responsiveness so not surprised. The Vanish looks too soft to be responsive at pace. The Wave Universe 5 are thin but firm so very responsive. |

You're right, the Vanish is too soft for optimum efficiency. The soles on the Saucony Endorphin Racer are quite firm and springy but the toe box is really narrow. I wish the Universe was still available. I tried the Streak at parkrun today and was rubbish. But it was freezing and wet, so results are inconclusive at this time. They're still bloody uncomfortable though! |

snayak - The Streak LT are the shorter distance shoe (I know you tried to get them), Streak is former marathon racer. I tried V3 but found them too narrow. I think you may like these if your size is available, unfortunately mine isn't (expensive but currently 50% off): reebok.co.uk Review: roadtrailrun.com A blue version is supposed to come out at some point but no release date (scroll to the bottom): roadtrailrun.com |

Awesome, thanks. 50% off?! I think I'd much rather sacrifice speed for some comfort. True foot shape shoes like Altra are the way to go! |

Yeah the Wave Universe is well shaped, as is the Puma Faas 100r. New Balance spikes also fit well for me. My first track spikes were Nike Rival D, horrible shape! I tried the Saucony Endorphin Racer awhile back and rejected them due the horrible toebox. |

Have you tried the ER 2? They're narrower but the soles are much springier and longer lasting, they don't have those awful lugs the ER did.

Nah, once I tried the fit of the first one, I wasn't interested in the second version. It was the worst toebox of any shoe I've tried.
