Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Very hot but the course is mostly shady, we did the munro in just under 3hrs but we did pootle around a bit.

Saw a fellow picnic runner who did look very powerful going up the steps.

Cheers ogee. It's amazing what you forget in a year - the pain, the suffering etc etc ;)

I did the picnic 2 years ago, the only thing i really remembered was the agony of the steps up to mickleham downs on the 2nd lap, still hurt today though, even on the approach to them my calves were cramping up just on the thought of going up the little feckers!!!

How did you pace it 2 years ago? Really easy on first lap and hobble round second? Or did you push it a little on the first lap to make up for lost time on second?

My training had really suffered before I did it as Id broken my leg skiing in the January beforehand, so really it was a case of just going for it & hoping for the best, the weather didn't help at all though on the day, never seen so much rain. Finished the fecker though:)
