Steady Edina
I wish my cats would sleep a bit more. One spends most of her time out and the other seems to spend her time racing around the flat, knocking things onto the floor so she can play with them and attacking my feet.

my cats dont sleep as much as some but probably cos they are still young and are always playing or watching the birdies.

Now just to show how soppy we animal lovers are, we are trying to plan a trip back home to the UK in Sept but im getting really worried about leaving Bandit, hes so humanised and I know he would miss us dreadfully. I need to find someone to house sit for when we go or the trip might not happen. Damn, how can I get so attached !

I am away for a week and I am missing Lasya... We have a great bond and I don't like leaving her as she is so focussed on me... I fully understand. Next time I am away I will find a house/cat sitter.

Barney's tests are back: hyperthyroidism and a bit of a kidney thing (mild, but the hyperthyroidism might be masking it). He has some pills, and has to have more tests in a few weeks to sort the dose. He's an elderly gent (17) and in pretty good nick otherwise, so hopefully he'll be with us a while yet.

That's good news RB :-)

A while ago I asked for advice about getting cat pee out of a new carpet. Pablo offended twice more so we got a professional in (on Christmas Eve!) to clean it properly. He left us some of this stuff worldofclean.co.uk which has been brilliant at getting subsequent stains out - including vomit and red wine (not that the latter was Pablo's fault...)

He's not peed on the carpet since so I hope that whatever was causing it has left his little cat brain. I've been filling the litter box a lot deeper (with clumping stuff) so that it's easier to scoop out.

I'm sure you all wanted to know that :-)
