Phew...3x16 done. Found the last set hard. Thanks a lot for the push SC. There's no point in me going for 3x17 tomorrow. What I really need to to be doing some pushups every day for a week or two to build up some base strength. Think I'll go for 3x12. Will report back here.

...shall join as well what sort of recovery do you have after each set?or is it just till you get your breath back?and can i start of at more than 1?done fitball last night so wee bit sore

Start where you like, May. People have been taking all sorts of different recoveries but all three sets must be done in the same session (not one in the morning, one at lunch and one after tea ;-)). I was taking 2mins recovery but wasn't sure if it was too short. Some took more, some less.

Dog, well done on the 3 x 16 . Great thay you have started again.
I did 3 x 21 today, really tough 3rd set.
May. I usually take about 1 min between set 1 & 2 & 2 mins between sets 2 & 3. This may need to go up to 3 minutes now I'm in the 20's, but I think 3 mins should be the max for me. If I can't do it with a 3 minute rest then I should lower the number of press-ups!

Stalling as I have done nowt for last few days - so no 3x69 .... Story of my life !!

So I will drop too 3x65 and start again.

thats me in then...done the 1min recov/then 2 min recov managed 3 x9 so its a starting point starting back on the fitball as well which incorporates push ups as well so shall see how it goes 3 x 100???yikes

3 x 22 today. Few days off due to racing on Sunday, doesn't seem to have done me any harm.
Threads gone a bit quiet. Has everyone stopped?

Failed 3 x 23 today. Only manged 15 on 3rd set. Try again tomorrow.

Start on day 1 with 3 x 1 press up. On day 2 move to 3 x 2 and keep increasing by one every day. If you fail to do the target for the day then you try the same number the next day, only increasing when you have done the session properly. The Marathon talk challenge is to get to 3 x 100 push ups.

There are no real rules except all three sets must be done in the same session though. No going to wash your hair/walk the dog in-between sets:-).
