It was cancelled due to torrential rain, as the course was flooded and it would have been dangerous to run. I think that the weather is normally ideal for marathon running.

The weather Malaga is currently fine. Albeit a bit warmer than you would want it to be. In fact a lot warmer. It is however a great place for running.

Yes, when the rain stopped I had a lovely run along the coast and even up to the castle.

Is Spitzbergen the most northerly marathon on land ? I know Roger Biggs of the 100 marathon Club has done it but unaware of anyone else ?
You could put previous years dates in on the race finder here & that will give you the names of folks that have previously done it ?

Had a wonderful time in Gdansk so much so it's already going on next years calendar -beach volleyball, beach bars, a Marina, warships & submarines, cheap & a lovely old town with good transport.

As opposed to in the sea ;-)? Not mainland if that's what you mean, on an island. It's the one where the marshals have rifles in case the polar bears start eyeing up the runners.

Foxy presumably is referring to the North pole marathon, which is indeed held on the sea, although the ice floes are still a few feet deep when it's run in April.
