It's only about 10 quid more than both Windermere (smallish) and Bentham (v small), of course like anything else it could be cheaper but there's a lot of well-organised infrastructure.
I haven't quite entered yet, but I'm pretty sure I'll be there. Feel like there's another sub-2:50 there for the taking....especially if the shoes keep getting better

After the highs of the race, and reflection and satisfaction of a new PB at the age of 50, 4 days on comes the crashing post marathon low. Jeez! Hit me like a truck today, post marathon blues suck.
On to Chicago for me in October, I obviously need something fresh to obsess about!

On a FB thread about the metrolink having their busiest ever Sunday on race day, a couple of people have praised the fact that the service was free to runners on the day. I think they're wrong and they just managed to travel without tickets accidentally, but does anyone remember seeing anything about free metrolink travel for runners?

Metrolink is usually free for Relay runners (only), to allow them to get to/from their changeover points (but I must admit I didn't look to see if that was the case this year).
There was a brief time when the Metrolink was free for all runners, but that has not been the case for (from memory) about 6-7 years.

If I’d believed that I might have gone in search of a station around Altrincham

I used metrolink both ways from trafford centre but only had 1 charge on my card. Not sure whether that's an auto calculated return rate or if I got one part free. I tapped in and out but there didn't seem to be any policing of this.

I haven't seen a 2023 thread yet jda.

I paid £20 to defer from my 2022 entry to 2023. Has anyone done this before, am I already in and don't need to do anything, or do I still have to enter but just not pay anything ? Can't see any mention of deferals on the 2023 website, although to be fair it's just "register an interest" at the moment, not actual entries
