October HM, it's a good idea, I always used to run an Autumn HM......I was thinking of Tatton in November.

I liked the idea of running an inaugural event, plus it's a few days after my birthday so it will be my first race in a new category

WS - I'm considering the new Tatton HM as a fall back option if things don't go to plan at this race. However, (so far at least) there seems to be a lot less information about the Tatton HM (there's no route, there Facebook page has only one entry and they're no answering queries, the race isn't listed on the official Tatton Park website, nor is it listed on Run Britain even though they're using the RB logo, etc...) hence I'm reluctant to hand over my money just yet.

Exactly, it sounds good, but there is nothing to it yet (Tatton) as an event, I may wait a couple of weeks.....ditto.

Hopefully everybody's training is going well? Just in case anybody missed the email earlier today... if you need to change your postal address, for delivery of your race number, you need to go to riderhq.com and update your details by noon on Monday 15th. It is the same deadline for anybody who hasn't entered yet and wants their name on their number. If you enter after Monday, but before 20th September your number will still be posted to you, but it won't have your name on. |

Nelly, I'm asking you because I think I'm much more likely to get a sensible answer from you rather than Manchester Marathon I'm going to have to pull out of this year's race - hip is even dodgier and I haven't been able to train - but although the FAQ say I can defer (no refunds) and just pay £10 next year, the RiderHQ site (which is where I was directed to do that - you never know, I might have a new hip by then!) says I have to pay £18.90. The deadline to defer under the £10 deal seems to be 15th August so I do need to get on with it. I've emailed Manchester Half but needless to say haven't received a reply Any ideas? Is it just a lack of communication between Manchester and RiderHQ do you think. Grrrr. Very frustrating. It's bad enough that I can't run without all this hassle.

Ooh I hadn't seen the interview had gone live... I was wondering when that would happen! Sorry to hear you're not going to be running Jen... I'd noticed via your blog that things weren't going well, so wondered whether you'd have to make the hard decision to pull out. I'd suggest giving Xtra Mile a quick call (0161 928 6795) and explaining that your trying to defer via the RiderHQ website, as per the instruction in the FAQs on the race website, but the RiderHQ website appears to want to charge you more than the £10 quoted in the FAQs. |
