Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I have two more long runs, this week end then next. Then taper madness to contend with and a final sports massage in the week before.

Hope you are enjoying the training Sam t.

For your first marathon you picked a good one!

I don't generally start my taper until 10 days to go, but that's probably unusual. I might book myself 15 minutes massage at the expo, as a treat.

It occurs to me I've not seen the 'final instructions' booklet, but maybe that's just about to be mailed out.

I was lucky enough to get a club running place after not getting in through the ballot.
Training has been hard compared to my normal running week prior to Xmas was doing around 10 to 16 a week. To now doing over 20 most weeks. Kids, work, life gets in the way.

Sounds good, sam T. You seem to be taking a realistic approach to predicting your finish time and I can attest that you can complete a marathon on 20 miles a week plus long runs in the kind of ratio you're doing. Now it's just a question of staying fit and healthy for the next month then going out and enjoying the day.

My max mileage in a week so far was 32 and won't be doing that again till the day. My weekly totals from this week on will be 28,30,27,18 then marathon. I'm following a plan made by a friend who is a running coach. I'm taking it easy as don't want to get any injuries.

Not getting injured is my primary aim. Enjoying myself is also right up there. 😀
Finishing time is much further down the list.
