I might secure a new pair of spikes especially for the day.

Can I join in? Never done a 1-mile officially, would be interesting to see how fast I can't go

Right, I think the worries over the track have been allayed and we're on and going. Paperwork needs sorting but that's doable so we're sorted.
1.00 until 3.00 is what I've booked so hopefully we can get at least 3 pace-graded miles done, along with a Hurtbox 400m and something silly like an 800m or a 100m or a relay or some combination (why don't you ever see a 4 x 800m relay?).
Any cake that can be brought along would be greatly appreciated. Bring your own drinks. I'll bring a suitable timing device and some finish tokens for positions. I could do with some of you volunteering to take turns timing/finish tagging so that we can all take turns and get to run as well, although if it gets tricky I'm happy to not run.
We will have use of changing rooms and loos but the weather looks like it's going to be sunny and dry, which is nice.
I'm quite looking forward to this. Who's with me?

In terms of costs it will just be a case of splitting the track hire between the various adults attending. 've never known one of these things go beyond £5, and often it's less than that.

I've submitted the group to the Run Engand website. It should be up tomorrow. Once it is, we'll be covered for insurance purposes.
