Anybody entered the Southend 10k this year? If so, I am just wondering if anybody knows how close to the race they send the race numbers out?
It is difficult to find out information on this particular race.

Hi Di, I'm in. From previous years experience they often come the week before the event.
Don't panic yet! And if all else fails, I know the chap who is organising the entries

Ahh thanks Al!
Mind you, I went for a run yesterday, hamstring tight as hell, ended up cutting the run short. All I could think of were two things, one the 10k and two the Parkrun I intended to do this Saturday LOL.
My poor hamstring must be banging its head against a brick wall (if it had one that is) lol

Update here:
Yay! I received an email today, info, numbers and chip sent out (today) should receive them tomorrow or Monday, so it's all go, go, go!!
Hamstring biz looks like it may have been some monster cramp.
Can't wait for Sunday week now, really looking forward to it! I wonder how many entrants they had?

I just have to post that the Southend 10k race today was absolutely excellent. I definitely have to run it again next year barring injury or an emergency!
Fantastic stuff Southend AC, seriously great! xxx

Nellers
I love that race and I only missed it this year because of a date clash with the Royal Parks Half, another of my favourites. I'm actually wearing the 2011 southend 10k t-shirt as I type this.:-)
How did it go, then?

Ahh it was grand Nellers!
It was my first 10k, completed it in 56:33 (chip time), so now I have an idea for my next 10k and a time to try and beat.
The event must have been blessed though, because usually, even on the best of days, it is gusty along that seafront, but it was really calm and still yesterday except for a refreshing little tiny breeze on the way back.
My next aim is the Southend Half Marathon next June, so I really need to up my mileage now :D
