Astana might work for Aru tomorrow, he showed good legs today and may be interested in a stage win. No point in Movistar working and Sky can chill because Froome has his stage win as Chris says. Bardet and Porte along with Aru may be allies of circumstances though. And if Porte gets away with Froome, I think Froome will help him.

Just coz of the former team mate love? The biggest question for me is what's up with Quintana. Such a disappointment.

They're supposed to be good friends, he won't risk anything but if they're both in front like yesterday there's no risk in working together to gain time.

Quintana is talking of allergies according to this article: cyclingnews.com

ITV are gagging for Froome to win an uphill stage, I just cant see him risking a blow up.

TBH it isn't really a risk if he really wants the stage. The only person that is still showing he can climb with him (Porte) is over 4 mins down. All Sky need to do is keep the pace high to control the break, Porte will likely drop everyone (there is a risk that Aru and maybe Bardet can follow based on today) and Froome then follows ala stage 17. Froome rides with Porte but Froome get the stage assuming Porte is happy to give that for Froome's assistance in his podium chase.

Astana got one up the road today and they're driving the pace massively. Not sure Aru is in that good form Yates has Matthews in the break, and Porte has two. There is gonna be some attacking today.

Aru's TT yesterday indicates surprisingly good legs but that might be 'power' over 'endurance'.

Surely it's about time for this year's thread? Froome vs Quintana vs Contador vs Nibali is all go again... Will it be the same once more?
