I'm glad they moved the finish though due to concerns about rider safety :-)

Looks like they can't do much. Race incident, normally wouldn't do anything. Result might stand.

The way Boardman and Immlach presented the rules it's basically down to the organisers/race Commisaire. No specific rule to cover this but nothing to stop them amending the result IF they choose to.

My feeling is that they won't and this will stand. What's the risk of a riders strike if they don't do something about it?

Froome will still win this from here. Better time trialler than Quintana, and Porte's gap is still significant.

I think he might still win, Chrisull, but he has to have a top TT tomorrow and no problems at all in the Alps. Today Quintana was having a mare and couldn't have done anything if the crash hadn't happened. Froome would have taken a bigger gap, then opened it further on the TT, then been able to hang on through the alps.

Common sense, rarely applied in cycle racing, would suggest that Froome and Porte should have same time as Mollema but this could go to appeal.
Some years ago when we had a TT up the Alpe and the barrier bill was enormous iirc. Maybe with the changes there simply was insufficient time to arrange barriers over and above that already planned.
Missed the guy with the stuffed boar this year though.

Sky Sports News reporting that Froome has tweeted that he's still in yellow. Nothing official yet that I can see.

Was it just so weird people didn't know how to react? The Yellow Jersey down, shouldn't if it been neutralised at the time of the crash?

Surely it's about time for this year's thread? Froome vs Quintana vs Contador vs Nibali is all go again... Will it be the same once more?
