The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?
I guess the question is why kettlebells over dumbbells? If because you want to do swings etc so more power orientated makes sense. If you're going to just squat, deadlift etc, won't dumbbells do?
I'll let those that train with kettlebells often say whether they find any extra benefits to using them for strength work.
I prefer kettlebells. The two handed swing is an all body exercise when done well it engages abs and glutes like in an upright plank at the end. I do think technique is important as for any free weights I guess.
I really just want something simple I can do in the house that will benefit running and probably importantly wont annoy the other half by having clutter around the house !
I felt the weight of some while in sainsburys and they felt heavy, thats why I thought a 4kg for some of the exercises I have seen and an 8kg for others and maybe progressing to heavier if I stick at it and find it is working
Baz - it sounds like rather than just running out and buying stuff you need to research what you're thinking of doing, then buy whatever you need to do it.
You can do swings with dumbbells. I used to do swings regularly with dumbbells. Double and single. Kettlebells are better for swings though. Although as I'm used to doing it with dumbbells I might actually better with dumbbells.
The advantage of dumbbells though is as he said there you can change the weights easily and it's cheaper to do it. This an important consideration where you're thinking of training at home rather than at a gym and therefore aren't going to have everything.
