Are you sure you're leaning back rather than upright?
Guess you could get some video of yourself running in a race, if you don't like what you see then it might be worth changing.

SPR, I was thinking the same thing - Hellen, if I could run as fast as you, I wouldn't give a toss what my posture was like!

POSE was the most frustrating thing I tried great for 3-5 miles anything after that impossible.
Chi you forget you are doing it but gets you into good habits

Lol Tikka. TBF if it's bad, improving it should help. You just have to be sure it is bad rather than distinctive. Michael Johnson's posture was distinctive but not bad.

Rory Coleman who is a coach commented when I passed him on Monday so it must have been bad!!
Doing a DVD is not going to harm me! I used to be quite good at doing yoga DVD but got out the habit. I do have 'yoga for runners'
Thanks for the Pilates recommebdation. Have tried Pilates and found it boring, think I even have some DVDs but if it makes me faster then I feel I am doing it for a good reason

After dabbling with Pose, the same as HOD, I got frustrated and fed up of it. Anything past 5 miles and things went to bits. One thing I did take from it was alignment of the body and how to get good alignment. The ways that work for me are to run and feel as if you are leading with the belly button. Or, to lower the tone, run as if you are doing the instroke. These only work if you do core work and they become second nature after a few runs if you have a strong enough core.

If I thought I needed to lean forward more when running, I think my first strategy would be to try to lean forwards a bit more when running.
Feel free to send me the £15 you would have spent on a DVD.

More seriously, I'm with SPR - is there really anything wrong with having a slightly different running style?

Mo, I did try to lean forward more and lead with my belly button (had heard that from pose) but not sure if I was doing it right. I do a few core exercises every day. If I am doing things wrong/badly will doing more core/pilates sort things?

Problem with getting people to focus on lean is that it doesn't work. It only confuses people. Get posture right and get used to maintaining that while running is best thing to do. Relax and just run basically (with good posture).
