1. Only heard of 11 of those, too. Never understood why Citizen Kane is so well regarded. I thought it was dreadful.
More influential from a directorial perspective, a lot of new techniques / ideas used.

4, and they're the mainstream ones (Citizen Kane, Vertigo, 2001, Mulholland Drive). Heard of maybe a dozen but mostly only because Kermode has mentioned them.
Life is too short. I shan't be pursuing completion of this list and can't imagine stumbling across them and watching by accident.

Being John Malkovich and Moonlight were pretty mainstream.
In The Mood For Love at no 2 is wonderful, the most emotional film I think.

I'm with Nellers. BJV was a Throwback at Everyman year before last I think.

I saw Poor Things this evening and enjoyed it just as much as I thought I would (a lot). Fab roles for Emma Stone & Mark Rufalo (sp?), with William Dafoe not far behind.
Next film is The Holdovers as I’ve always been a fan of Alexander Payne films, particularly Sideways.

18 for me. And one I have on DVD but haven't seen yet. A few on my "to see" list as well.

2. I feel so ashamed. Can't say many appeal to me though.

I’ve seen 7 from that list, some of which I didn’t like much. Don’t feel inspired to see many more - looks like quite a dark and depressing selection.
In other news - someone on here, maybe Greppers, recommended The 39 Steps. It’s on iplayer at the mo’. I started to watch it, but it froze after about 15 mins. I liked what I saw tho’, so will attempt another watch.
