I'm going to see a 'secret horror' tomorrow on my own. Then we may be going to see Meg 2 on Wednesday. Which could be horrific all on its own.

It's not good. It has its moments but still the worst film I've seen this year - and I've seen Cocaine Bear *and* the Witney Houston biopic.

Saw a trailer for the Ridley Scott ‘Napoleon’ earlier. That looks like it has potential

I watched Power of the Dog on BBC2 last night. I have mixed feelings about it. Good cast and well acted. However, I am not sure what the point of the film was. Well actually, I think I do but I am undecided how I feel about it.

Just back from Blue Beetle. I rather liked it. Good little film.

I'm off to see Lola ( L O L A Lola) tomorrow.

Looking forward to it, might have my friend's 16 year old daughter with me, also which would be nice. She has been going through a tough time lately, as have her parents in supporting her, so she might become my movie buddy to give her some escapism and them some space (and me somebody to talk about movies with, as Sam doesn't usually want to sit still that line).

I'm sure you won't be surprised that I'm also very much looking forward to "Napoleon", GregP.

It did cop some stick from the history podcast community for it's tagline "He came from nothing. He conquered everything." which is pretty massively inaccurate (He came from a fairly wealthy family of lower aristocratic status and he conquered about 2/3rds of Europe for a few years.). It's advertising, though, innit? No-one ever sold stuff by saying it's the second best of it's type.

Despite this it looks like they've put some big money into the battle scenes and the look of it and Joaquin Phoenix is always a bit good so even if the script is a bit hyperbolic I'll roll with it.

I’ve been meaning to get a biography of Boney for a long time, as I know very little beyond the broad strokes. Now might be good.
