That is the ideal Peacey but the odd deviation isn't an issue.

eL Bee! and I were talking about training paces and stuff while we were running (which demonstrates, among other things, that I can have a coherent conversation at a pace that would give me an average WHR of 75% or slightly higher).
I'm currently breaking another training principle by doing nearly all my training at target marathon pace.

I pop my head round the door to suggest that the reason why i don't understand a word of this thread is closely associated with the fact that I am a shite runner.

Hello, JB The party appears to be in this thread tonight!
Ian, yes, I am indeed special. I'm risking everything so that my husband doesn't end up doing most of his training at 30%WHR. Saintly or what?

Peacey
Thanks Ian. As a rule I have been happy up to this point if the entire run averaged under 70%, maybe I'm getting a little picky to try to keep the run under 70 constantly?

No Peacey, you are doing fine mate just dont beat yerself up over the odd straying fromthe line thing. I find it easy nowadays to keep all of mine under if that is the desired aim of the run.
Very selfless of you vrap

Peacy as you know Hr drift is somewhat inevitable as the run progresses. Hadd states that until you can hold a constant pace at the designated BPM for10 miles then you should carry on training at that HR until you can
Heres my last 10 miler after 8 weeks of consistent Circa 140 BPM running
11th February 2009 142 BPM 62% WHR 9.02,8.51,9.00,9.20,9.19,9.07,9.17,9.33,9.28,9.50
So I am not there yet by quite a margin, but it has improved both in pace and the amount of drift since i started 8 weeks ago.
