I just did the half at Saltburn but if I'd known there was singing on the full I'd have been there

I think this year was the first time it was done the 'wrong' way around as a one-off. (or was that last year, it was whatever year it was into a blizzard. it's all starting to merge into one!)

Its been done the 'wrong way' ie Guisborough to Helmsley for the last couple of years due to availability of a finish place. The Helmsley sports club are happy to have us and very flexible where as Guisborough scouts and rugby club always seemed to have last minute issues. Ironically their building work hadn't finished and we had to use the Town Hall in the market square this year. I liked that as the pub next door has a late licence but we all had to be out by midnight for the hall. Jon has talked about it going back to its original way but I've heard nothing to say it is and i doubt it will. . I do prefer the original way because the cp's are better space (22 , 43, finish). Kildale comes to early now. Its also seems more natural but if you've got no where to finish then that is that. I doubt I'll do it next year as I've done it a few times and have other stuff to do but if not I'll almost certainly be helping out or sweeping. |

If and when I have grand children I will be able to recall the Hardmoors 55 in 2013 when moving towards Bloworth Crossing I thought I had an ice lolly in my mouth, and then realised it was my tongue!!! Great race.

I had a balaclava on on that fateful day. Not worn one before or since and it was a whim purchase. it froze to my face and neck and I couldn't take it off. tough day at the office that day.

Princess Purple or Hardmoors Princess as we call her did it again with a superbly organised Princess challenge and short and sweet races. Totals not in yet but over £1500-00 raised for Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue. I'm going to nominate her for member of the month. A nice report : sandbachstriders.co.uk |

Nobody has been on here for a while! I'm thinking about doing Hardmoors 110 next year but I'm a bit scared. Some club mates have done the 60 and the 55 and say it's much harder than WHW but they loved it and they want to do 110 and ask if I want to. I've been a bit lazy recently so maybe it's the kick up the bum I need but I'm not sure. Is it doable for a WHW 27ish hour finisher to make it within the cut offs? Thanks in advance guys. |
