So we have £1500, give or take, and want to buy a 'do everything' bike?

Will continue to look, just wanted to open the betting.

You can still buy Focus Cayos I've just noticed. There you go then. Job done.

I used to have a Focus Ergoride. Ruthlessly efficient and very German. Buddy had - still has - a Cayo. Huge amount of bike for the money - this was back in the day when Wiggle were the sole UK distributor.

I had a Ginat for a year once - nothing wrong with it, just a bit bland. The one in question here just looks a bit relaxed (t's that sloping top tube what does it) - probably make a great sportive/hack - certainly nothing wrong with it.

That sloping tube is a Giant thing, I believe.

:) HoD.

Not at all, GR - they are quite trendy, just I don't like them. I came very close to buying a second hand De Rosa instead of a new SuperSix - it was that specifically that put me off.

One of these, in fact:

Incidentally, by 'a Giant thing', I meant that even their top of the range competition bikes tend to have the sloping tube, not that it's unique to the company.

Morning, or maybe afternoon now: I biked. I hiked, my legs don't hurt. Wow.

Pembrey on Sunday to relive the '90s with Tim Gould riding vets in the first round of MTB series. Good Cx course last year for welsh league should mean a very fast mtb course, albeit flattish.

A rusty lock-up/garage/hut in the grounds of the Hotel Bastardos, we are a small cycling club and yet also a broad church.

Pull up a chair, get a cup of tea and a slice of slightly stale cake and settle down.

Welcome to the old skool. Founded 2012.
