If it was my money I'd get the Synapse or the Cayo if it's your 'everything' bike, or the CAAD 12 if it's to be your blinger/race bike.

I would have my current Giant Defy 5 for commuting/cycling to the pub.

I like the CAAD 12 but given the overall similarity in spec would be tempted to go for the Giant and put the £200 saved towards some better wheels.
