They were still selling places into the October marathon about a month before the (re)cancellation, so I'm not sure the event actually ever sold out (they just closed entries in Feb/Mar, I can't remember). And then you can factor in the number of refunds (I'd guess >10%). If you're seriously considering it, it may be worth trying to book a refundable local hotel before the Premier League fixtures are released (I've not looked at current hotel availability)... because prices always go up and availability down, as soon as its announced if Man Utd are at home that weekend.
