They're beginning to p1ss me off now.

Keep getting emails reminding me, urging me, to enter during the first 7 days, as a priority customer, at the special discount price of £45.

I know, and they know, that there were only 500 places at that price and they all sold out in the first hour or so on Monday, so stop pretending otherwise ........

It's not just Manchester. A lot of races do this and I've continued to get emails inviting me to enter long after I've actually entered. I just ignore them.
For the record, I'm in for Manchester next year.

I've decided to have a go at GMM 2018 (last time I did it it was short). Entry - paid. Hotel - booked. Training - best get started!

Hi
I'm in Manchester for 2018 but don't know the city very well. Can anyone recommend a hotel convenient for the Marathon please? Or do you have experience of parking, thinking of the Metro park and ride if I need to drive up on the day?

I found the Copthorne at the Quays ideally located when I was there this year - perfect for the short stagger back after the finish! Price was fairly reasonable at the time we booked too.

EO - the problem you will have finding a local (i.e. within walking distance) hotel, at a reasonable price, is that MUFC are at home on the Saturday, so they'll generally be booked-up or the prices will be inflated. Most city centre hotels will be just a short 10-15min journey on the Metrolink away from the race village.

I've never used the official car parks, but there's always people after the event complaining about being caught up in road closures associated with the race and hence not being able to access the car parks. I would therefore strongly recommend the Metrolink park and ride facilities, if you either drive up on the day, or decide to stay outside central Manchester.

I'm getting close to pressing the button for next year.

Was thinking of trying to get a cheap hotel somewhere between the M6 and the western-most Metrolink station that has parking, and just drive to the station on the morning after an early breakfast.

Gus - whilst it is not the most western station, I'd probably suggest Sale Water Park park'n'ride is the most easily accessible, because it is accessed directly off the M60 Ring Road, so you wouldn't need to be too close to Manchester the night before (if you didn't want to be). I would imagine the Metrolink would also be slightly less busy than the Altrincham line, as it doesn't go direct to Old Trafford but it is still on the direct line to Trafford Bar (which I know you know is a short walk away from the race village).

It would be good to see you again, if you do press go.
