nelly - out of interest did he give any indication over what went wrong with the baggage system?

Pat - what's your obsession with the baggage when there has been a clear case of number mix up here ;)
I was going to do Wythy this Saturday but the thought of offering encouragement in the same manner you offered it to me last Saturday, I may just show my face at Woodbank.

On the Saturday night I drove over to Dunham to check the road closures to make sure we could get parked up. The 'trail' bit was cut up in places then but a ranger type fella said that they were going to put hay down and put wood across the mud right at the end of the lane when you took a sharp right. That bit turned into It's a knockout later on with people constantly slipping. When we arrived on Sunday they were having real problems getting the gate out of Dunham open. Maybe they didn't get a chance to do this because of that.

So they'll sort the baggage out for next year - good. What they need is to put down some walkways on the park too, just in case the weather turns all Mancunian again next year...

I'll probably hold off on entering next year until I get a nice magazine in October, but either way I shall be either running or supporting again - my voice was still a bit croaky in work today when I had to prosecute a few cases!

Pat - they said they took full responsibility for it and put it down to a number of issues primarily the tent wasn't big enough, then when it started to become an issue the cadets started to be verbally abused so left, and this was made worse by the weather. So nothing we didn't know already.

So basically the foul mouthed faster runners spoiled it for the rest of us ;-)

I've just realised that there's 2 videos at the finish. My finish line one shows me cross the line and look at my watch, then put my head in my hands as I realise I've hit 3.50 on the nose and it all comes down to the chip time. I just go out of shot as the floods of tears come!

Nelly, I was in at 3:15:56 so that lets me off the hook!

I was there when the situation was really deterioating. I didn't hear any verbal abuse but the situation was getting tense and tempers getting frayed. I wouldn't be surprised if it did go down hill after that but, to be honest, the "system" had collapsed before that point. If there was verbal abuse it was the cause of the problem, it was a symptom.

Thats not excusing any abuse the cadets got, just saying that shouldn't be blamed for the baggage problem IMHO.

Should read: If there was verbal abuse it wasn't the cause of the problem, it was a symptom.
