In previous years parking has been fine, either on the common or towards Eastney. The problem is getting away afterwards: even when I was one of the last cars leaving I still got stuck in traffic for ages getting off the island. This year I’m planning on getting the train.

I'm in pink wave too. I'm a bit sad about that (I've usually been in the wave between orange and the last wave in previous years) not because it suggests Gt Run has looked at my result from last year and seen that I belong at the back ;-) but because son1 is in Orange wave and highly likely to romp round so he'll be hanging around for ages waiting for me. The forecast is for showers so I don't want him to get wet and cold while he waits for his elderly Mum! I think the best plan is for him to collect his stuff from the bag drop and head to a cafe somewhere to wait for me.

I'm running this year, but haven't seen a race pack yet.

So a bit concerned. :(

I usually go for fish and chips after the race, the traffic has buggered off by the time I do that. Last year I got the train and that was fine. Might get the train on Sunday as well actually. No idea if I should go for a good time or a fun time, will decide on the day

Not sure I've got my race number yet, my post is a bit bollocks right now due to strikes. I better check!

Looks like there are some engineering works on Sunday? The planned is very opaque about where though!

Looks ok for trains from Crawley, just a change in Brighton.

My running club arranged a coach last year, which actually worked out cheaper than the trains.

Made it a good day out jolly too :)

I'm relieved I've got mine as I leave home on Wednesday to go to Alice's.

Anyone (apart from me) doing the Great South Run this weekend? I’ve entered the 5k on Saturday as well as the main run on Sunday. It’s my 3rd time doing this one.
UPDATE : 2024 my 5th time!
