Wobbling Aug 2013 10:21am, 21 Aug 2013 2,552 posts	0 Wobbling I was watching GBBO series one the other day, and you can see the producers pick the same type of people for each series: young gay chap, older gay chap, mid-30s ambitious chap who does things his way and usually has a row with Paul, at least two people from an ethnic minority who will struggle with making scones, but who will compensate with adventurous flavours in show-stoppers, middle-class alpha mum, working class mum who will always be stunned she's made it this far, high achieving middle-aged lady, mad-as-a-box-of-frogs middle aged lady and someone really pretty. The chap who won Star Baker yesterday was a bit of a departure, and looking back to series 1 & 2, if you either win star baker or get seriously commended in round one, you go on to the final. So, my money's on him to win this time with squirrel cake lady to take second place. Squirrel cake lady will then change her life and go on to make cakes / write cake books / give lessons for a living, while the satellite guy will go quietly back to his old life.

I know someone who applied and nearly got selected who is a nearly-40 gay chap (so falling between the young and older categories!). He is also extremely loud and a bit of character so i suspect they decided they already had a few two many personalities among the presenters! From what I've seen on FB however, he's a great baker so it is a bit of a shame.
