Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Only just spotted this thread :) Toby needed a good slap. The Gaudi bloke and the overly vocal one are doing my head in already. That Ruby even looks miserable when she cracks a smile - tiresome to watch, cheer up flower.

I really liked the little bear, and the squirrl. One criticism of the programme, I know there are 13 contestants for this first episode, but it would have been nice for them to linger a little longer over some of the better showstoppers. And a little less time over the Angel Food Cakes (he did well, she did badly, he's a knob, here's 13 identical cakes that look different, bam, done)

Good point well made, JK. There were some very impressive show stoppers though I had just a passing glance at most.

well you've got to have the drama - the older lady with the blonde hair is a little over confident and the dentist looks as if she wants to kill someone

I heart GBBO. Chiefy and I were playing bingo last night, on the card were soggy bottom (no tarts, no bingo), some cracking innuendo (bingo!), a family recipe (bingo!), squirrel's nuts (bingo!), Paul Hollywood doing creepy eyes (bingo!) and blue plasters (bingo bingo bingo!)

House!

And you can get the squirrel cake recipe from the website bbc.co.uk - and it does include nuts!

We've got a Bake Off sweepstake at work. Unfortunately I drew Ali who is a lovely boy but I'm afraid he isn't going to make it through many more rounds unless he pulls his finger out and doesn't make any more of those sagging engagement cakes!
