I'm not envious of the people that are there. I'm quite glad that the BBC cover it and so much is available on the iPlayer. It means I don't have to listen through the stuff I don't like and just get the good bits, but with no need to sleep in a field or shit in a hole in the ground.

Idles are great. If you like a bit of righteously angry not-punk they are definitely for you, but I'm too old to be in the crowd at a Idles gig.

Which kind of supports my point. I can listen to them but you don't have to. You can find Bastille or whatever and listen to that instead if you'd rather, and you still don't need to shit in a hole.

Last time I went to Glastonbury, my sphincter was so keen to avoid the portaloos that I didn't shit for both the 96 hrs I was there, plus another five days afterwards (severe dehydration also contributed). It's the only time I've ever had to buy Dulcolax...

(even so, still wanting to be there now, mind)

I want to go but I know I would hate it as there are too many people and portaloos are disgusting. Plus I would never be able to get near the stages.

I'm currently watching stuff on iPlayer: so far I've seen Michael Kiwanuka, Interpol and half way through Cat Powers at the mo. I'll track down the Foals tomorrow.

I have massive envy, Id love to be there. There is so much music to discover and loads of bands I love who are not even on iPlayer. I'd rather shit in my own tent than watch Bastille, god forsaken bland nonsense.

Has never appealed to me.

Too many people, too annoying with it's implied 'if you don't think this is amaaaaazing there must be something wrong with you' whereas when we do watch on telly, Lauryn Hill last night for example, she was really disappointing but the BBC sycophants dare not say anything remotely negative.

I love live music in small events (the other week, eg, listening to a couple of guys who were on before us at the Party at the Castle locally, they were really good, got nice interaction going with the crowd, etc etc, all very enjoyable) - and I got to go home to my own bed and loo. Ditto at the Sidmouth Folk Festival, people who don't need massive amps but are really tight musically, have decent voices and leave you buzzing and it's a five minute walk home. Yes I'm old but you'd have got the same answer from me when I was 20.
