I've been debating a bit with the OH about that "female viagra" they've been talking about in the press the last week or so. I don't know if there's already a thread talking about it.
I'm pretty unsure about the whole thing. It seems to me that often a lack of sexual desire in women is caused by a number of factors such as being busy and stressed. The drug would just be a way of papering over the cracks rather than dealing with the cause. I also think that women are increasingly sexualised and that if you don't want to jump into bed every 5 minutes then you are ill and need to be cured with pills. I can imagine if it was released then a lot of men will be pestering their wives to take it. What if they're happy how they are?
OH thinks that it wouldn't be like that, that there's probably loads of women who have happy lives and relationships but have just lost their desire for hormonal or other reasons. It'd be for those women to take if they wanted to.
I heard one woman talking about how women have a duty to keep their desire high for their husbands. I read about a woman who reads her kindle while he gets on with it. OH thinks sex is sometimes just meeting a physical need for men and that actually he wouldn't be too upset if a partner was just doing it because he wanted to sometimes, we all make sacrifices in a relationship.
What do you think? Is female viagra a good thing?

I think its a bad thing. If women start enjoying rumpo it's the thin end of the wedge.
