Again I'm no expert but from what I've read everyone has a very personal normal HRV range, which has to be established by monitoring before any conclusions can be drawn. Following on from that any large change in HRV is likely to be an indication that something dramatic has happened. If HRV has dropped it's the stress supressing the heart's reactivity. If HRV has dramatically increased it may be that you're making significantly varied demands on your heart due to the stress other organs/systems have been placed under.

I don't know exactly how Garmins do HRV but that's sort fo the explanation I get on the app I use.

For me, the HRV fluctuations is definitely connected to worries, stress, and illnesses.

And sometimes maranoia :)

It’s interesting as a long term metric and the trend that appears, but maybe not short term. Although I look at it every morning to see “how I feel” 😂

Most of the time or always perhaps, if I have a low HRV score, my RHR is elevated too.

I agree with@Frosty The Bowman 🇸🇪 it affects me in the same way worries, stress and illness.

Interestingly due to stress over if my cat would live after being knocked down my RHR +15 and HRV very low. This morning RHR is in normal range +4 and HRV climbed as well.

@Welshpoppy hopefully that means your cat is now ok.

Thanks all, mine is now balanced. I’ve always taken Garmin with a pinch of salt so don’t know why it upsets me when my HRV unbalanced or low. 😂

I'm moderately grateful that my watch doesn't do HRV :-) Stops me worrying about it!!

Sometimes I look back at the days I didn’t know what RHR I had, or HRV or even sleep score.. those were the days 😂

I’ve stopped wearing my watch overnight because I was spending too much time worrying about all these stats that I never seem to actually be able influence, and don’t give me much actionable information.

I find HRV is a very reliable indicator of less sleep and alcohol consumption. It'll be low tomorrow.

going back to the calendar, I was looking for an event I did last year - and found that it is also recorded on the wrong day in the calendar (Sat rather than Sun) but opening the activity shows it with the right date.

Odd
