Good call about that vision from season two Nellers, I forgot about that. It's obvious now the destruction of King's Landing and Dany's descent to madness was key to the whole story, even the GRRM's unfinished work.

I don't think the message that a woman can't be trusted, it's not deliberately mysoginistic imho. It's the fact Dany is a Targaryen and therefore a power crazed, fire obsessed lunatic and centuries of inbreeding has led to hereditary madness. At least Jon was raised a Stark and unaware of his lineage with no tendancies of megalomania.

And the coin has flipped the other side for him.

Saw a clip of GRRM saying when you scatter clues and foreshadowing then some people will guess the outcome and the reveal of the big secret. But rather than change the outcome he decided to stick with the story he’d planned out. So he stopped reading fan sites long ago.

Hmm... as my OH said last night, "was the narrative supposed to be two crazy ladies attempting to be calmed by mostly sane men"?

Things didn't happen the way I thought they would, I wanted Cersei to be killed by either Jaime or Arya. Also I really wanted Cersei to wipe that smug look off of Euron's face - 'the baby isn't yours :-P it's Jaime's'.

I am half thinking someone will kill Dany, but not too sure who. Will see what happens next week.

Cersei was never insane. Cold, calculating and prepared to do whatever it takes, no matter how hideous. Made her all the more dangerous. I thought a more defiant ending would have come her way. Her life ending in the arms of Jamie as the Red Keep collapsed around them was strangely romantic in a way.

Do get the feeling that some of this was a bit rushed, but not really a complaint.

I liked Cersei’s ending. Insistent she’s safe in the Red Keep until it crashes down on top of her.

Poor Lena Headey didn’t have much to do this season except stare out of a window!

Was there a significance with Arya and the horse at the end? I guess it was the army captain's horse but, other than that, I couldn't see any relevance.?

Personally I took it as a moment of calm and peace. There are various links to white horses including Dany, and Arya when she was travelling with the Hound. (I think my favourite bit was when they were cutting between the Hound’s fight and Arya trying to survive). And other theories including horsemen of the apocalypse. I wonder if they’ll explain it

One thing I picked up online that I didn’t grasp while watching was the Varys was asking the girl Martha to poison Dany. ‘She hasn’t eaten anything’ ‘the soldiers are watching’ ‘we’ll try again next mealtime’
