Serious question though. Cersei borrowed a huge sum from the Iron Bank against the income of the Seven Kingdoms. She's used it to buy the Golden Company to fight and ensure she has control at the end of all this.

Except that the Seven Kingdoms have been devastated by the wars that have raged through the last 7 series. Are the Iron Bank going to be a factor in the finale? Will they come back to reclaim their debt and buy out the Golden Company? Or are they another plot thread that the showrunners have decided aren't necessary to complete the narrative?

Good point.

If I remember correctly, Cersei sent Jamie to High Garden to seize the Tyrell gold, in order to repay the debt to the Iron Bank. But then, wasn't this gold lost en-route as Jamie suffered the attack from the dragons on the road - or did the gold make it back?

Would be a bit of an anti-climax if the Golden Company go on strike due to lack of funds!

Actually you might have filled in the potential plot hole. I think Jamie got the gold into the city first and it was the food and stores that were burned.

I don't think a mercenary army would go on strike and refuse to fight. I think they'd be more likely to, erm……… find a more aggressive way to ensure payment.

Maybe some kind of Marshall Plan, post-war reconstruction thing funded by the Iron Bank?

This could end up like Star Wars Episode I, with a long boring political finish then?

I read a good piece about how the Iron Bank could have influence.

The Tyrell gold made it back in to repay the Iron Bank, then they loaned more for the Golden Company.

The piece was along the lines that Lannister/Baratheon crown would owe the bank and the debt would be inherited, but the debt wouldn’t be passed on if the crown ended up as Targaryen.

We must have all seen it by now surely?

Not a good episode for Dany, I think she'll finally lose it next week and rain fire on Kings Landing once the main body of her army arrives. Must destroy those dragon slaying crossbows first.

Varys and his scheming will come into play on a big scale now he's switched to Jon's claim for the throne. Tyrion has a decision to make now. Looks like Dany could become what her father was after losing her dragon and Missendri like that.

I wonder what role Sansa has to play now? Ominously low key so far apart from a complete dislike of Dany.

As for Cersei, who's going to end up killing her? There's a long queue of people looking for vengeance towards her.

Jamie will kill Cersei. Fact. Well it's not fact but is my shout.

You heard the one about Bran being the Lord of Light and having manipulated every move since from his attempted murder through to Arya being given the blade that killed the Night King. Just think about what he said to Theon in E3 for instance.

I'll go one further and say Jamie will kill himself after killing Cersei. Their relationship has always had a Shakespearean tragedy thing about it.
