I stopped in cheap hotel on day 0. £29 on late rooms (also on the door). Other than a dodgy looking door lock there was nothing to compain about. Quite a few people were there and one of the organisers ferried us up to the start after breakfast.
Garmin charging!! You are camping in the middle of a field with portable gas powered shower units (better than some regular camp sites I've been to). Not sure what you are going to plug the Garmin in to!! There will be a number of camper vans around so you could possibly negotiate something.
Don't let any of this put you off - it's great fun.
Tips for getting around... Just do it. Plan to enjoy it and don't be too fussed about the time.

For some reason I thought evening meals were eaten in a building each night with electricity. Obviously not and that's absolutley great. I'll have to dig out and dust my old stop watch.

Why would you want a stop watch?
