The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?
Arguably I'd say you were happy to watch us pass the ball about at the back without busting a guy to get at it or put us under too much pressure. It turned into a good open game but could easily have been another shocker, scoring the two when we did really meant that you had to come at us a lot more and opened the game up. Dalot seemed to have the freedom of the right wing for most of the night.
Palace v Bristol Rovers (Division 2, 1978) 0-1 was my first. Considering how good we were that 1978-79 season, it wasn't until my fourth game that we actually won. Although that was the glory night against Burnley when we won the title. Sorry Bob!
That was unlucky Phil, as we only lost 4 league games all season.
My first football match was Peterborough v Reading (I think) around 1972/3. The only thing I remember about it was not having heard of Reading before. Fortunately we soon moved back to the south east and I went to my first Palace game. I have no idea who it was against, all I recall of that one was Peter Taylor hitting the post which was the nearest we came to a goal. That would’ve been about 1975.
Ah, the beautiful game, remember that? Let's put down some jumpers and have a socially-distanced kickabout. Long shots only, and no hugging and kissing.
