VAR still working off the smallest of margins. For Richies first it seemed to measure from his arm, for his second, I'm not really sure, his and the defenders foot both seemed to be on the line. I though they had changed it so it had to be more obvious.
Nice to get a win finally, but not a good performance against a poor arsenal side, who still could have put 5 past us.

Yes, Arsenal are not much to write home about, and their 5th position is a bit of a false one, but that is probably true of anyone outside the top 3.

Awful game last night, and how Godfrey stayed on the pitch, I'll never know.
The league does seem to be split into a Top 3, Bottom 4, and the rest, so good luck to anyone trying to predict the whole league table!

Godfrey is just what Everton needed last night. A couple of robust challenges to get the crowd onside and make it feel like the team was trying to win.
Given that VAR rules out 2 goals by the tiniest of margins, you'd think if Godfrey did anything wrong they might have picked that up also.
Can't have it both ways. VAR works or it doesn't

Mike Dean is a very strange man. He ignored what were two very bookable challenges by Godfrey, probably because they were early on. VAR doesn't get involved in those. Then, when he looked at the possible deliberate boot in the face I can only assume he gave him the benefit of the doubt because he (Godfrey) was looking the other way.
