Agree on Sterling, seems decent and with a moral compass. Goalkeepers catching the ball in their midriff and then falling forward... the rule always was 6 seconds and there was a tiny period it was enforced. I hate it. And... throw ins. Should be a similar limit. Really winds me up. |

P.s if England is 1-0 up, yes, I have double standards at best.

Agree Oscar, I’m not clear on the rules but remember as a kid of you tried to steal distance at a throw in it went against you as a foul throw. I’d love to see a game like the Italy Belgium one last night where the fourth official puts up his board with 27 minutes on it.

Do Belgium not remind you of England’s ‘golden generation’? Great players who are let down by a clueless manager. The blame is often thrown at the players for Engmands lack of success but a succession of terrible managers trying to shoe horn good players into ridiculous positions and formations with terrible consequences, and nobody really understanding what the strategy was. As with England when it clicks Belgium look amazing and the players take care of it, then when they come across a tactically astute Manager, or just a solid formation they are a bit clueless. I thought Mancini deserved a lot of credit last night for the way tehy went at them. |

Sterling had the same goal scoring record as Martin keown. 43 games 2 goals a massive under achievement. He now stands at 65 games and 17 goals so 22 games and 15 goals. So he has now brought his obvious talent to the international stage. He can still be infuriating and I don’t think he’ll reach the heights he should. But he’s a quality player and one of the certain England starters. |

Scanning Sterling's Wiki page, his upbringing in Jamaica was 'troubled' - "... his father was shot & killed when S was 2. Drawn to Christianity by his mum. 2 assault cases against him failed - he himself was attacked by a convicted thug. 'Substantial' donation to Grenfell Tower fund, 2017. One of the 100 most influential Black Britons. MBE for 'services to racial equality in sport.' More than simply a pro footballer, then. |

Some of the England team Sterling, Rashford, Bellingham, Saka - are excellent, wonderfully articulate role models who have in different ways overcome adversity or just conducted themselves well throughout, and they deserve every success. Then some are Jack Grealish: thesun.co.uk |
