We’ve made some big mistakes Brandon, our whole fan base was labelled as arrogant for years for daring to support a team from another town and for being disappointed when we lost. We never however created and marketed a slogan suggesting that our support care more than anyone else whilst banging on about the worldwide fan base. It just makes me laugh that you’ve become everything you’ve always claimed to despise about United.

No..... it’s just bullshit marketing hype. The sport is full of it. Of course it’s cringingly cheesy and quite daft but not all fans think the same as each other. I despised MUFC fans that I grew up with because they were the big rivals and won everything and quite rightly they made sure we knew it. I’m enjoying a club going through a good patch until City improve or someone else comes good again. Let’s face it, it’s been a long time between drinks 😁 so the marketing folk are going to milk every last drop out of it.

When I was at school, only a couple of supported our local club. Nearly everyone else supported Liverpool or Arsenal. No-one supported Man Utd as they were sleeping giants at the time.
After years of Man Utd dominance, children either don Chelsea tops and that they have ditched the red of United in favour of the red of Liverpool.
My nephew lives in north London and followed his local club but has switched his allegiance to Liverpool in the last year. It's that kind of glory-hunting behaviour that gets on my wick. Usually because they have a fear of losing.
On the other hand, a friend of mine supported Liverpool throughout his childhood despite having no links with the place. In his twenties, he started following his local team (Palace) and the game became more interesting to him. What would sport be if a team wins every week (he says tongue in cheek based on the current season)!

FFS Brandon, that’s a shit response. You’re supposed to get all defensive and offer me out for a 2m jousting match.

In our primary school (mid to late 60’s) there was me and my brother who supported United out of around 200 kids, most of the others supported Liverpool with the odd Wednesday and Forest fan for god measure. As a kid I went to see mainly Worksop but before I was old enough to go to Hnited on my own I’d go to see Donny Rovers or Chesterfield. Growing up a few of my mates supported Wednesday and I’d go with them but stand in the away end as I even hated Wednesday as a kid when they never played United.

Ditto, Joopsy...and I've been telling my work colleagues that this year's landmark birthday is being postponed/cancelled like everything else this year.
