I had the jab at work 3 weeks ago.

The next day was a Saturday and in the evening I was freezing, had achy spine and felt pretty sh!tty. Sunday I was fine. The other people at work that had it had no ill effects at all.

I have had it for as long as its been offered to me. It has never stripped me of my masculinity. Poofs.

Before going for my flu jab last Thursday, I had read somewhere that we shouldn't run after the jab. I had the jab in my right arm, and was asked if I also wanted a pneumonia jab which was a one off and would last for a lifetime. I decided to have it and it was put into my left arm. I was also told that it might make me feel a little unwell. I had no after effects, except for a slight ache in the left arm. I didn't run on the Friday, but went for a steady 8 miler this morning with no problems.

I believe the pneumonia jab to be new, and no one I have spoken to knew of it. It certainly hasn't been advertised. Has anyone on here heard of it, or actually had it?

I had my pneumonia jab last year. I was fine. I had this year's flu jab this morning. I was all manly and everything and didn't blub in front of the very attractive nurse.

I am guessing its the pneumococcal vaccine. Protects against one bacterium that commonly causes pneumonia, but not against pneumonia itself. Its been around for a while, but they might have changed the 'at risk' groups.

No, it's the same as always - if you're eligible for the flu vac, then you're eligible for pneumo, except for pregnant ladies who only get flu
