Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Fantastic start to the challenge, Sushi and Nellers!

I went to an alternative pool this morning (though it nearly didn't happen, apparently their boiler broke over the weekend but has now been fixed - I was starting to wonder if I was a swimming pool jinx!) and got just over a mile done to kick off my virtual challenge. I was there when it opened and the lifeguard setting out the lanes was proactively moving people into the right one, which was really refreshing after the usual 'walkers in the fast lane' challenges at my regular pool. If it weren't more hassle to get to I'd be tempted to make it my regular venue!

Nice one Sushi. I got back from the pool thinking I might have overtaken you but nope, not a chance!

At some point I'll hit a run of shifts and be unable to swim for days. I'm out of the house for at least 14hrs when I'm working so can't swim at all.

Did you fall in and just keep going Dvorak? ;-)

I've just done a session I nabbed from the Global Triathlon Network YouTube channel called "Beginners Speedwork". If that was for beginners I don't want to think about what advanced swimmers do for speedwork!

Anyway, 2.2km clocked and I'm getting close to the second checkpoint.

Ticking off yet another checkpoint eh, Sushi? You’re really getting it done on this challenge. Pretty inspirational!

Thanks Nellers. Swimming was my 'thing' as a child/teen. I still love it. The challenge has given me the push I needed to really get going again in prep for my 10k.

Its a 45 min lane session so may just sneak the 1.2miles needed in for CP4.
The session before is a general public swim so I may jump in for the tail end of that just to make sure.
