12barDavid - It is a problem for lipreading and reduces the volume too. Was at the dentist today with everyone wearing masks and I really struggled because they were saying things I wasn't expecting. Not sure what they'd have done if I'd been unable to hear them at all. I guess I'd have used my phone app.
(I have 20dB and 40dB loss with one hearing aid)

Hello Grast_girl, yes, it's a big problem for the likes of us. If I remember, later on, I'll post a picture of the badges I'm now wearing. I'll put the photo on this thread.
I'm waiting for an appointment for my assessment to see if I'm suitable for a cochlear implant.

@12bar I told one of my sons ( deaf) about the exemption from face masks but he doesn't want to "stand out" and will probably just miss everything anyone says ( he's a really good lip reader), including having me pulling down my mask to communicate. The other deaf son is much more willing to accept some help.
