Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Sorry to see the (temporary) demise of the treasure hunt. I took part in this a few times during and after lockdown and really enjoyed it. I may be a simple soul, but I find the lists of tangible stuff (postboxes, benches, street signs etc) much easier to engage with than some of the lists with intangible or interpretative clues/words. The idea of engaging with those and being creative generally meant I haven't bothered with them.

I know others have had a lot of fun with the more cryptic lists, but they weren't for me.

I'm just reflecting really on how/why I have contributed to the falling away in take-up on this. And, yes, I do accept that there are only so many times you can photograph your local pub without it becoming repetitive, so I understand why the lists have moved towards greater creativity.

I enjoyed it one Christmas when I think it was part of the Fetchmas calendar (or whatever it's called!) but found it too much to keep up with each month - especially living somewhere quite urban, some lists had things which were impossible for me to find in my area.
