It is, a really good mixture of old and new, and, as Dvorak says, they're not short of visitors.

Been a bit quiet in here. At my dad's for a few days...went to my old local last night. Fullers, always has been....it has a hotel attached now....refurbished...feels like an airport lounge. Pride, a shadow of it's former self BTW, a few coppers short of a fiver. Lordy!

That's scary! I've missed a couple of good beer festivals recently sadly - bit of a late start to the season for me really. I think Colchester will be on soon - no excuse not to go to that one really.

I suppose you have to take into consideration I had my first pint in there during the late 70s. My dad and I were talking about when I bought my first round....2 pints of lager and a Guinness (bleurgh!)...93p....my dad went through a phase of drinking Guinness..a combination of the poor choice of ale available back then and geir advertising campaigns.

Anyone in Edinburgh for the marathon, should check out The Hanging Bat on Lothian Road. Excellent choice of ales and stouts/porters. And they serve in 2/3 pint, (apart from the strongest ones which come in 1/3 pint) so you can try several without getting too drunk.

How about the Halfway House after a marathon? Just approach it up, not down, the stairs ;-). And don't all go at once.

Daleside Blonde, was very nice. Felt wrong passing up Black Sheep when we were so close to Masham, especially since I’d drunk it in Suffolk the week before.

Going to the Guildford Beer Festival this weekend. Should be good. Due to the influx of actually very good craft beers at reasonable prices that the likes of Tesco and Waitrose have introduced recently, my Untappd profile has been lacking in ales. Time to rectify that.

Picked up a box of Adnams Mosaic when in Aldeburgh recently. Made sure there are some bottles in the fridge ready for when I get home later.
Mosaic is definitely a summer beer with mango and citrus flavours. A bit different from Adnams' traditional Ghost Ship, Broadside, etc.
